Heavenly perfumed with luscious tropical fruits with underlying
gooseberry, spiciness and minerality.
Dry in style, the smooth palate displays length of flavour.
Vineyard
The grapes are sourced from our own vineyards and are pure Martinborough.
The vineyard blocks are intensively tended by hand. Wiith an emphasis
on quality, much care is taken to achieve the best flavour and balance.
Winemaking
The fruit is hand sorted, hand harvested and gently whole-bunch
pressed for finesse. The wine is cool fermented in stainless steel
to reflect classic fruit character. A small portion is barrel fermented
in old French oak to give added interest and complexity.
Low
yields and a long cool autumn period combined to produce a vintage
in which our 2006 Te Tera Sauvignon Blanc shows intense varietal
character and flavour.
The extended ripening period allowed the grapes to retain their
natural acidity whilst concentrating flavours enabling us to make
a wine we believe exhibits some of the best elements of New Zealand
Sauvignon Blanc.
This wine displays a melding of herbaceous and tropical characters
with gooseberry, passionfruit, tropical lychee and citrus notes
on the nose with a palate that dispalys complexity of fruit, length
and intensity.
Vineyard
The fruit was selected from a combination of premium vineyard sites.
Work in the vineyard was carried out to produce an intense varietal
Sauvignon Blanc in the classic New Zealand Sauvignon style that
has become famous around the world.
Winemaking
Each vineyard parcel has been treated separately to give complexity
and impart depth of flavour.
