Every wine lover dreams of great wines and this is great Martinborough pinot.
Its depth and richness of colour inspire great expectations, on which it quickly
delivers. With brambly undergrowth, sweat and earth, it serves up mushrooms of
every kind. A cherried plum and cassis heart offers ripe reward, accessibility
and balance, behind its bacon smokiness and bushwalk brilliance. Length and layers,
structure and style - a magnificent wine. This is what results from 25 years
of making pinot noir in Martinborough.

SILVER
Ripe dark fruit and a little spice on the nose. Some nice oak character
with berryfruit on a full palate.

BEST IMPORT
A gorgeous, succulent Kiwi pinot from a proven vineyard. Lovely
super-ripe black cherry, undergrowth, foresty aromas, hinting at
some stalks in the ferment. The palate is deep and sweet-fruited,
with the tannins to age well.

Classic Wines of New Zealand - Second Edition - 2005
Deep ruby hue. Mouthfilling, sweet-fruited and supple, with beautifully
rich, ripe cherry, plum and spice flavours, very refined and harmonious.
Fruit sweetness gives early appeal, but this is a generous, finely
balanced wine with good cellaring potential.
Drink 2006 - 10 (Cork) (*****)
Matthew Jukes - UK - 2005
Great balance and pungent fruit, was hurried along by a whoosh
of generous, plump black cherry and plum flavours. The stylish
finish and length mark it as one of the best Pinots in New Zealand.
Great wine.

Michael Cooper's Buyers Guide 2005
The 2003 vintage (*****) promises to be a classic, with deep, noble
colour and a beautifully fragrant bouquet. Concentrated, rich and
supple, with sweet fruit delights, it has dense plum, cherry and
spice flavours, highly complex and very youthful. Open 2006+.

The Northern Advocate - 13 August 2005
Complex wine, with a meaty, earthy bouquet, plus ripe cherries,
and cherry, spice-oak, and savoury flavours. There is excellent
silky texture, good balance, and fine tannins. One to age and follow.
Now/four years.
