2003 PINOT NOIR
The Foodtown Magazine ~ May 2006
Plums and sweet loam are the initial impressions in the bouquet.
This is a big, sweet-fruited wine with perfectly balanced tannins,
lashings of flovour and a deliciously ripe-fruited finish
Otago Daily Times - March 2006
There's something slightly decadent about the hint of corruption
- and a suggestion of autumn forest flor and savoury mushrooms
- developing behind the ripe sweet fruit and spicy oak in this
charming, velvety wine. These complex tertiary characters that
fine pinot noir develops may not be to everyone's taste, but they
are highly sought after by connoisseurs. This wine is drinking
deliciously now, but given the paste performance of this leading
pinot noir maker, it will develop well over another three or four
years.

Michael Cooper's Buyer's Guide to New Zealand Wines 2006
The 2003 vintage (*****) has deep, noble colour and a beautifully
fragrant bouquet. Concentrated, rich and supple, with sweet fruit
delights, it has dense plum, cherry and spice flavours, highly
complex and youthful.

WBM (Wine Business Magazine, Australia) - December 2005
Intense choc-cherry liquer, opening to rhubarb and sweet beetroot
characters. Dry powdery and ultra-fine and zingy structure and
finish, nicely shape generous flavours of sour cherry. An exceptional
and enjoyable wine with a great future...

Best of the Best - Food and Beverage Magazine - November 2005
The wine with the longest Pinot Noir history in New Zealand. Delicious
and immediately appealing with good Pinot fruit strength and character.
A little young, ligthly herbal, nicely balanced and alive with
plenty of good plums and fruit to unfold yet.
