LATE HARVEST RIESLING 2004

Martinborough Vineyard late Harvest Riesling displays complexity of fragrance with floral, lime, spice, raisin and honey scents. The full smooth palate has wonderful texture and balance. Structure and style allow this wine to age gracefully for many years.

Vineyard
The grapes are sourced from the Jackson Vineyard on the Martinborough Terrace. This small family owned vineyard is intensively tended by hand. The vines are now 14 years old and consistently deliver quality fruit with flavour and balance.

The fruit for our Late Harvest Riesling was left to ripen late into the autumn and develop classic botrytis cinerea. We carefully hand picked on several occasions with fruit up to 37 Brix

Winemaking
The fruit is hand sorted, hand harvested and pressed gently over a long period yielding a concentrated nectar. Slow, cool fermentation retained focus upon classic fruit and botrytis complexity.

A rich sweet style (150g/l residual sugar).
